Items and Upgrade Components in World of Warcraft
Upgrades can increase the value of armor and weapons. Upgrades to common and magical equipment aren't worth it, since rare or unique items will quickly outclass them.
Upgrades can be added to an item up to six times. Each upgrade will add points to the gauge of level of the item.

Item affixes are available on the majority of items with a level 80, with the exception of made ascended armor and crafted trinkets.
